WOW – (Worship on Wednesdays)

WOW will begin on Wednesday, September 10. We will begin with an “Open Table” meal at 6:00 pm open to all. Then we will continue the evening with Sunday School classes, Confirmation classes, Choir practices, Bell Choir practices, and conclude the evening with a brief worship service at 7:15 pm. Confirmation and Sunday School parents and all parishioners are invited to stay after the meal to visit or bring a book or bring some work and we will give you the wi-fi password or maybe join a choir. We are looking into having a speaker from Iowa State Extension come once in a while on a topic that may interest you, stay tuned. We are looking for some volunteers to help organize the meals, help with clean up, bake cookies or desserts, donate food, help with Sunday School. Look for some sign up sheets to use your gifts to serve your brothers and sisters in Christ and our Lord. Get Ready to have a “Wow!” experiences at WOW.

“Prayer – Does it make a Difference?” by Philip Yancey will be our Fall Adult Study. Philip Yancey looks at different types of prayer and discusses what happens if we don’t hear an answer right way? What if God gives a different answer? Is God listening? Are We listening? How do we pray and does prayer matter? We will listen to Philip Yancey on a DVD and then walk through discussion questions. The class will last about an hour. We will begin at 1:30 pm. on Friday afternoon. The first session will be on Friday, September 12. There are six sessions. Come and let us have some conversations on prayer.
